ADEMCO
Group Partners with OzVision
to Launch Advanced Remote Video Transmission Solutions
SYOSSET, NY - August 8, 2002 - Honeywell Automation and Control
Solutions announced today that ADEMCO Group is partnering with OzVision
to integrate a new remote video transmission system with AlarmNet
central station communication services.
OzVision
will develop a version of its color dial-up video transmission system,
the OzLine-4, to deliver high-quality remote video images over standard
telephone lines to ADEMCO Group's AlarmNet server system, which
in turn will transmit the video images to a central station. "From
the AlarmNet servers, we'll be sending the video over the Internet
to central stations, fully encrypted and authenticated," says
Gordon Hope, vice president of marketing for ADEMCO. The AlarmNet
services will be deployed and fully integrated into central station
automation systems in the near future.
The
OzVision agreement is part of an overall ADEMCO plan to add dialer
and Internet-based solutions to the AlarmNet suite of services.
ADEMCO's Optiflex product, planned for release early next year,
will transmit remote video to central stations entirely over the
Internet. "OptiFlex is a complementary product to the OzVision
dial-up solution and will provide a high-speed video solution for
higher traffic applications," added Hope.
Avi
Lupo, president of OzVision America stated, "One of the key
benefits of this new partnership is that we'll provide a new and
cost-effective recurring revenue stream to central stations through
the use of the AlarmNet infrastructure and advanced video product
solutions."
Currently
OzVision has interfaces available for both SIMS and Bold Technologies
automation software. These solutions allow software on a PC at the
central station to receive Oz images directly, so that they are
automatically sent to the central station operator on the same console
that receives alarms. The overall set of features will be enhanced
when driven through the AlarmNet services infrastructure. "Central
Stations can get started now with entry level features and migrate
toward advanced services when the AlarmNet integration is complete,"
added Lupo.
